We will be watching American Hospitals: Healing a Broken System, a deep dive into the out-of-control cost of hospitals and their transformation into profit-driven corporations. Following the film, we will hear from healthcare workers, including internal medicine physician and president of the Butner Area chapter of UE 150 Dr. Rakesh Patel, who are organizing to end the corporate takeover of American medicine and to secure a universal, single-payer system that would help put control of our hospitals back in the hands of the people.
