This was the detailed study performed by the NC Institute of Medicine for use by the NC General Assembly’s deliberation on accepting the Federal Affordable Care Act’s offer of expanding to new recipients: poor adults without any of:
- young children
- pregnancy
- full and permanent disability
- senior citizen status
Ideas it contains include the cost of caring for “woodwork” MCD-eligible patients, seeking the new Medicaid, but discovered to be eligible but not-yet enrolled in the old program (thus accessing the 30/70 payment mix of “old” MCD).
I was unable to find where this analysis is now located at the NC Institute of Medicine’s website, so loaded a long-ago downloaded copy onto our site.
This Acrobat image of the PowerPoint presentation is only 23 slides. NCIOM-MCD-expansion-costs
