The Tenth annual non-partisan advocacy event called Historic Thousands on Jones St (HKonJ) was a v-e-r-y cold morning, but a successful gathering of thousands.
The Moral Movement is led by NAACP-NC in protesting the NC Legislature’s recent decisions on:
- Voting Rights & Access (this year’s main focus & organizing theme)
- Educational Policy & Funding
- Environment & Energy Policy
- Reproductive Rights
- Criminal Justice Reform
- Labor Rights & Wages
- Immigrants’ & Religious Rights
and our own group’s targeted topic: Expansion of NC-Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act.
The News and Observer did a nice article in the next-day’s Sunday paper.
WNCN had a nice TV clip about 2 min long.
