Security Issues and Our Promise

Nothing is more important to us than the trust our members and supporters have placed in us. We have adopted and maintain the highest standards for protecting your contact and financial information. To this end we have implemented new policies in November of 2007 formalizing older principles and promises.

Personal data and email: We will never sell or lend your contact information or email, not even to like-minded organizations with which we might be associated, much less to unrelated organizations or purposes. Regarding email specifically we will develop further options for our members to communicate with our board and perhaps with each other, but we will not broaden the use of the emails beyond the purpose stated at the time of their collection. For most members, this will be for a monthly newsletter from our organization. Not even our own board members have access to your contact information, nor are they approved to send out announcements beyond those to which you have explicitly agreed.

Financial data: No financial data (card numbers, card types, verification numbers etc.) are contained on our website or server. For online payments and for your convenience we maintain such financial data on the more secure servers of our online financial bank, which has a much higher security rating with appropriate encryption and firewalls. This bank serves much larger organizations than our own and exceeds all standards of these institutions. Wnen anyone donates to us they are transferred to and then back from "our page" that exists on the server of eSelectPlus in order to enter financial data. Along with your contact information our online database also stores your history of membership and donations.Only our treasurer and our Executive Director are able to access and edit these data.
